New Tesla Model Y Now Available in Non-Launch Edition Trim
The refreshed and improved 2025 Tesla Model Y can now be ordered in Long Range AWD configuration as the Launch Edition is no longer available. The latter was priced at $84,990 and featured several unique touches and technologies including standard Full Self-Driving (Supervised).
Here’s the thing, though: the manufacturer’s suggested retail price has gone up from $64,990 (old Model Y) to $69,990—basically matching the U.S. price based on the current exchange rate.

This came the day after Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced a 25-percent tariff on new U.S.-built vehicles imported and sold in the country. However, the cause and effect relationship is not immediately clear.
In addition to chassis and interior enhancements, the 2025 Model Y offers 526 km of range and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.8 seconds, or a half-second slower than the Launch Edition. The optional 20-inch wheels ($2,600) reduce maximum range to 488 km. Customers can also add a black and white interior ($1,300) and the aforementioned Full Self-Driving system ($11,000).
Delivery times are “2-4 weeks” according to Tesla Canada’s online configurator.
Right now, there is still just one trim level to choose from. No Model Y Performance and no Long Range RWD variant, either. The latter used to cost $60,990 prior to the refresh. Of course, since this is Tesla we’re talking about, we fully expect more lineup changes and pricing adjustments to be made in the coming months.
In related news, Reuters reported in mid-March that Tesla is working on a variant of the Model Y that will be smaller and 20-percent cheaper to build. Production of this new vehicle, codenamed "E41," would begin at Gigafactory Shanghai in 2026 mainly for the Chinese market.
One of the sources said it would also be manufactured in Europe and North America, without providing a time frame.
